What we actually do
We don't just tell you what could work. We help make it work.
Cross Meridian works with companies moving between China, Europe, the United States and Latin America. Sometimes that means finding the right supplier. Sometimes it means figuring out whether a market is worth entering in the first place. Sometimes it means staying involved long after the first contract is signed. The common thread is simple: we get involved where things actually happen.
Quick help — a call, a meeting, an email, a translation
Need someone to join a customer call, sit in on a meeting in person, write an email that actually lands, or translate a document?
Small jobs, priced by the task with no minimum.
Sourcing & supply chain
The right supplier is more than the right price.
We work directly with factories and suppliers: identifying potential partners, checking how they actually operate, negotiating terms, and staying involved once production begins. When it matters, we're on the factory floor ourselves, speaking the language and dealing directly with the people responsible for getting the order right.
We can help with
- Supplier identification and vetting
- Factory visits and relationship building
- Price and commercial negotiations
- Production and quality-control follow-up
- Supplier communication and problem solving
- Logistics and shipment coordination
- Ongoing supplier relationships
The point isn't to find a supplier. It's to build a supply relationship that actually works.
Market research
Desk research tells you what's online. We go into the market itself.
Before entering a new market, you need more than market size, competitor lists, and industry reports. We talk to customers, visit businesses, speak with distributors and partners, and look at competitors in the real world, testing assumptions to find out what people actually buy, how they buy it, and what would make them switch. Sometimes the answer confirms the opportunity. Sometimes it tells you to wait.
We can help with
- Customer and channel interviews
- Distributor and partner research
- Competitor visits and analysis
- Pricing and positioning checks
- Retail and on-the-ground market visits
- Channel and distribution research
- Testing whether a product or concept fits locally
If the market tells us it isn't ready, we'll tell you that too.
Market entry
Getting into a market is easy. Getting the first real business is harder.
We help companies turn an international expansion idea into something operational: finding the first distributor, identifying potential customers, opening the right conversations, understanding local expectations, or helping negotiate the first commercial agreement. We don't hand you a market-entry deck and walk away. We help open the doors.
We can help with
- Market-entry planning
- Local positioning
- Distributor and partner identification
- Customer introductions
- Commercial negotiations
- Local relationship building
- First orders and first contracts
- Practical coordination through launch
The goal isn't to "enter" a market. It's to get something actually moving in it.
Commercial operations
The first deal isn't the finish line.
A new market needs someone who keeps showing up. We can take an active role in managing a territory's commercial relationships: following up with customers, working with distributors, solving problems, developing opportunities, and keeping communication moving between the local market and headquarters. It's not consulting from the sidelines. We're involved in the relationship.
Depending on the engagement, that can include
- Customer and distributor management
- Ongoing commercial follow-up
- Developing new accounts
- Managing local relationships
- Supporting negotiations
- Resolving commercial issues
- Reporting market feedback back to headquarters
- Building the next layer of opportunities
We stay on after the deal because that's when the real work starts.
Legal & compliance
Local rules are easier when someone local knows where to look.
Cross-border business brings legal, regulatory, and compliance questions that can't always be answered from headquarters. We're not lawyers. We maintain a standing network of law firms and local specialists, and bring them into a project when their expertise is needed. Our role is to help identify what needs to be dealt with, find the right people, and keep the commercial side moving while the specialists handle the legal work.
We can coordinate support around
- Company and market-entry requirements
- Import and export compliance
- Product and regulatory requirements
- Contracts and commercial agreements
- Local legal questions
- Tax and customs specialists
- Other market-specific compliance issues
You don't need to know which specialist you need before you call us. That's part of what we help figure out.
Expansion strategy
Where should you go next, and is the market actually ready?
Expansion isn't always about finding the next country. Sometimes the right answer is another city, another channel, another customer segment, or simply waiting until the timing is better. We combine what we know about the market with what we've learned from working directly with customers, distributors, suppliers, and partners, giving us a practical view of where an expansion makes sense, and where it doesn't.
We can help with
- Selecting the next market
- Assessing market readiness
- Comparing expansion opportunities
- Channel and territory strategy
- Local positioning
- Expansion sequencing
- Identifying potential partners and customers
- Building a practical roadmap
We'd rather tell you not to expand than help you expand into the wrong market.
One team.
From the first conversation to the next market.
You may only need one part of what we do. You may need someone to find a supplier next month, a distributor six months later, and someone to manage the relationship after that. That's fine.
We don't sell a fixed package. We get involved where we're useful, from China into international markets, or the other way around.
No proposal. No consulting package. Just a conversation.
